General questions
Where do Cycling Rentals Operate ?
Cycling Rentals offer bike rentals all over mainland Spain and Portugal. We can deliver to accommodations where there is an all day reception service willing and able to accept delivery of bikes. We do not offer delivery to private residences, self catering rental properties and any accommodations where no-one is at hand to receive or unable to store the bicycles for you.

DO YOU OFFER CHILD SEATS OR TRAILERS?
We do not offer child seats or trailers for hire and our rear racks are not intended for use with child seats.
DO YOU OFFER CHILDREN'S BIKES?
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM?
Cycling Rentals bicycles are professionally maintained and checked before every bike rental. We can provide you with a list of partner and friendly local bike shops for your bike journey. If you have a break down during your rental period that was caused in any way by faulty maintenance, we will refund your service charges. You can also opt for additional insurance to cover theft or crash damages.
WHO DO I CONTACT FOR ASSISTANCE ON THE ROAD?
If you have a problem during your bike rental, you can call or text us at our dedicated support number (also on WhatsApp). We can also help out if you have language difficulties with locals and provide you with options for the closest bike shop and how to get there.
Self Guided Cycling Holidays
Can i start on any day/date?
Yes! As our tours are self guided you can start on whatever date suits you best.
Are hotel upgrade options available?
Yes! Hotel upgrade options are available for most tours. Please contact us for a quote and more details.
Can I add extra nights?
Yes! If you would like to spend some extra time in one place or need an extra night at the start or end of your tour we can help. Please contact us for a quote and more details.
DO TOURS INCLUDE AIRPORT SHUTTLE?
Airport shuttle is not included but can be added upon request. Please contact us for a quote and more details.
CAN HOTEL ROOMS ACCOMMODATE MORE THAN 2 GUESTS?
We do not offer triple occupancy rooms for adult guests. Double rooms with 2 beds are single beds and most hotels limit occupancy to 2 adults. Some hotels may offer “family rooms” for more than 2 guests which are intended for families with small children.
DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER?
As our tours are self guided, roadside assistance and transportation for riders is not included. Luggage shuttle service is intended for luggage only and, in most cases, cannot accommodate passengers and bikes as well. If needed, transportation can be arranged at the rider’s expense.

- Delivery & collection in Spain or Portugal*

*Delivery and collection is generally included in our rental fees, when stated, but charges may vary based on quantity of bikes and delivery or collection location. Hotels on pedestrian streets, historic centers and/or upper floor receptions generally do not work well for delivery or collection.

HOW and When ARE BIKES DELIVERED?
Bikes are delivered boxed, fully assembled by courier directly to your hotel 1-3 days before your start date. The only thing you have to do is straighten the handlebars and attach the pedals (we supply a pedal wrench). After your last day of riding bikes are then collected by courier from your last night’s accommodation, no need to worry about re-boxing. "How to" assembly video and detailed instructions are included.
CAN YOU DELIVER TO ANY HOTEL ON YOUR MAP EVEN IF I’M NOT STAYING THERE?
Our Bike Friendly Accommodations map is a directory of hotels that have previously accepted bikes for guests only. Bikes are accepted at the sole discretion of the hotel and are not obligated to accept bikes. We recommend booking with the option of free cancellation and letting your hotel know that you would like to have bikes delivered/collected. Please, no Airbnbs, self catering properties or private residences.
CAN I START AND FINISH IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS?
Absolutely! It's no problem to have a bike delivered in one location and collected from a different location. For example we could deliver bikes in León and collect them from Santiago de Compostela.
Do bikes need to boxed up for collection?
You do not need to be box bikes back up for collection unless you are starting and ending in the same location.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
We require a minimum of 10 days notice for most rentals however this does not guarantee availability. For rental dates between April and October we recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability. See our Book Now page to reserve your bike!
